PGA Golf Management

The PGA Golf Management University Program is a partnership between The PGA of America and schools offering accredited PGA Golf Management programs. It is a four-and-one-half year college curriculum for aspiring PGA Professionals. PGA Golf Management University Programs provide students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry through extensive classroom studies, internship experience and player development. The goal of the PGAGolf Mangement Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is to produce a graduate who meets the qualifications to be a PGA member and has a basic background in managing golf facilities and related organizations, business and personnel management, restaurant and hospitality management, and recreation. UNL administrators, faculty and staff are dedicated to assisting students with both the academic and experiential aspects of the PGA Golf Management Program. Integration of the subject matter in the diverse curriculum, which includes courses in business (management, marketing, finance, accounting), general science (biology, chemistry, physics) plant science, food service management, communications and leadership development as well as knowledge of the game of golf and the golf industry, will be realized in the major's capstone course, seminars, and the required internships.
